The tour itself combines exhibit viewing, slides, demonstrations and active participation by your students. A trained docent leads most tours which highlight the history of Franklin County. A set of Museum rules and procedures is also included.
Scheduling a Museum Tour
Schedule a tour at least two weeks in advance of the date you wish to visit. We encourage you to visit in the fall, winter or early spring as May and June are busy months. Because of the space restrictions at our Museum, groups larger than 35 cannot be accommodated. Unfortunately, the Museum has no provisions for handicap access. Please allow a minimum of one hour for your Museum tour.
School tours are available from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday through Friday. Museum visits are free although there is a nominal $2.50 postage and handling fee charged for the Museums Tour Teacher's Packet. To schedule your 'Museum Tour' please call the Museum Administrator at (509) 547-3714.
